I solved this problem by using DS4Windows and clicking on "Hide DS4 Controller" on the settings tab. I know this is extremely late, but in case anybody finds it. I try this setup you have explain to use ps1 game but with PCSX reloaded im not able to detect my xbox pad with any USB. With many, I specifically have to hold down the button as I switch to another function in order for it to work. I try your setup guide about PCSX2 and it was ok also my xbox joystick is working fine. The controller itself works on other emulators, just need to do tricks in order to complete the function. I only get a solid D-Pad function such as UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT, but no R1/L1/R2/L2 or any of my other buttons. I am plugged via USB that came with the console. Should be in Quick Menu, Options, Controls, and near the top it lets you select 'pad type.' Make sure that is set to 'analog' (and not standard or default). It is just the controller that is not inputting the functions properly, and it is not the controller as it works well on my PS4 and on other Emus.
